I think you are on the right track. Be careful of the area and don't touch it or walk on it until you give you them an opportunity to repair it. I think it can be repaired but would have to see IRL to be sure. But it should 100% be on the installer to make it right.
They caused the damage, so they are responsible for fixing it. I agree with Kathy, you're on the right track.
Looks like the installer tore the flooring while removing the old one or installing the new one. They should remedy the situation. Either repair or a cash credit. May not be able to get similar flooring. The one with the tape can be glued back.
You paid to have a dishwasher installed not to have your flooring damaged. Keep every slip of paper (contract) from the installer and their company.
Keep a phone log of every call you make regarding this. Document who you talked to, the date and time and brief summary of the conversation.
Hi Michelle, it's really too bad that this happened. You have done absolutely everything right thus far and may have to just keep contacting the company and installer to get a resolution to the problem. As Mogie mentioned, document absolutely every call or text communication regarding the problem. Be nice but firm about what you expect to happen and maybe decide on what $ amount you'd be happy with from the company, if it comes to that. If it is a reputable company they should want to ensure that you ae a happy customer. Often times it's not that a problem happened but how the problem is handled that is most important!
Definitely on track, keep records of all phone calls, back it up with emails if you can. The contractor subcontracted the job but essentially is liable for the installer. If he cannot fix it, he essentially owes you a new floor.
Yes, stand firm and keep records. You need compensation for replacement because of the obvious installation damage.
Hi! I agree with the others. If they won't pay for repairs or replacement, you may be able to use a vinyl floor repair kit. Best case scenario would have them take responsibility and address this, however. Be persistent, firm and polite. Good luck!
Not sure what the pictures are showing. It looks like the padding they place UNDER the hardwood flooring. Not seeing flooring in the photos. See area where tape covers the dark area. but why it the white padding all showing in front of the dishwasher?
Hi Michelle, sorry this happened, the owner should be able to pay for someone to come in and fix that flooring for you.
Don’t pursue it with the installer unless they are a separate contractor that’s hired by the appliance store. Follow up with the appliance store until the issue is resolved.
