DIY Cake Plate Stands
These cake stands are a super easy and quick project that will look so cute in your kitchen, are a fraction of the cost of new ones and, since you are making your own DIY cake plate stand, they can be totally unique.
You can find the pieces you need at a thrift store:
- Thrift store plate or charger
- Candlestick holders
- Gorilla Glue
- Craft paint or spray paint
- Paint brush
- Sandpaper
Start by painting the candlestick holders. I wanted everything on two of the cake stands to be white so I painted the wooden candlestick holder and the smaller plastic one with with Rusto-Oleum paint & primer spray paint in Heirloom White satin finish.
Candlestick before
Let the candlestick holder dry thoroughly.
Sand the bottom of the plates and the top of the candlestick holders with 120 grit sandpaper to give the glue something to really stick to.
Apply the Gorilla glue to the top of the candlestick holders.
Turn the plate upside down so the bottom is facing up.
Glue the candlestick holder to the plate in the center.
Let it dry over-night.
No joke, that’s it! This cheap DIY cake stand is so easy!
