GREASY RANGE HOOD
Very tacky when I put hand flat on it. It is painted black enamel. Have tried several things without success. Also need advice on how to clean a range hood filter. Thanks

Use crud cutter and a magic eraser
I would try TSP. (Here's some more info on that https://www.bobvila.com/articles/cleaning-with-tsp-trisodium-phosphate/ )
Depending on the material on the range hood you would probably be ok trying mineral spirits or paint thinner as well but I would start with TSP.
You need to use a degreaser. Krud Kutter is a good one. Simple Green makes a good one. Or one cup of vinegar to one gallon hot water and a few squirts of Dawn Dish liquid. The vinegar will break down the grease and Dawn will remove it. Don't use TSP. It can affect the paint finish.
Vinegar will cut through the grease.
I use vinegar with warm water. If It's really tough I use the blue Dawn detergent. Sometimes I need a little elbow grease, but I don't love the other chemicals.

I use Dollar Tree Awesome Degreaser for all my clients greasy kitchens. Tio clean the filter I put it in the sink with Awesome Orange that I buy in the half gallon with hot water, let sit a bit, then run under hot water to get the greasey residue out. or you can put the filter in the dish washer also.
I use Awesome of Fabuloso on my range hood. I also put the vents in my dishwasher and they come out sparkling clean
You can use Krud Kutter https://amzn.to/3d2Dbal
I would use VERY hot water mixed 1/2 water/1/2 vinegar and Dawn dishwashing soap. It may take more than one application to get rid of the greasy layers. This method should not harm the blackk enamel surface. Use a very soft cloth so you don't scratch the hood.
Ammonia will get it off streight from the bottle
Hot water and vinegar!
If all else fail s try SIZE ( not sure of spelling)
