Hi Barbara, here's some information about use of essential oils and pets in your home that may be exposed to the oils. Better safe than sorry, plus there's a few people who may be "allergic" to specific essential oils and not know it. Most essential oils are used with a "carrier" oil with little scent. It's a very interesting topic to say the least!

Hi Barbara, I love using essential oils in my home. I make all my own cleaning products and always douse them with essential oils. Many oils smell great (of course!) but many of them also have anti bacterial properties that are also good us!
what do you want to use it for
From my experience, some people are sensitive to essential oils, so be careful. Also, although I have used them, I saw what happened to the finish on my daughter's dining room table when she spilled some. It took an area of the factory finish completely off by the time she realized it had spilled. So take care with what you put it in or on. Some finishes can be damaged. Good luck and stay safe!
When inhaled, the scent molecules in essential oils travel from the olfactory nerves directly to the brain and especially impact the amygdala, the emotional center of the brain. Essential oils can also be absorbed by the skin.
some oils have to have a carrier oil mixed with it to put on skin; some oils cannot be inhaled; here is more info for you and essential oils

People say to use the bottom of your feet because that is where you have the most pores, and therefore the oils would get into your blood stream the quickest. But wrists, back of neck work well too. I bet even armpits work too! Sweaty feet mean lots of pores. Sweaty armpits = lots of pores too (just not as many as feet.) There are also blood vessels in your feet that go to each body system (I have a map in my essential oil usage manual) so you can target places on your feet for what body system you are trying to target.
