DIY Easter Wreath
I don't know about you but this recent burst of spring weather has really put me in an Easter-decorating mood! The other day, I whipped open all of the windows in our house, busted out my favourite, festive dollar store finds, and swapped the St. Patrick's Day wreath on the front door with something a bit more colourful and fresh.
Much like the St. Patrick's Day wreath I wrote about a few weeks ago, this Easter-themed piece is super simple to recreate, and can be customized to suit anyone's personal style.
The best base for a wreath like this is definitely a foam form. Rather than using a hot glue gun to secure your collection of fake flowers, you can rely on the sturdiness of the foam to hold everything in place.
Because spring is so fresh and colourful, I didn't want to limit myself to a particular colour palette for this wreath.
So, when I went to the dollar store to pick out the fake flowers I was going to use, I grabbed anything that caught my eye and reminded me of the season.
I also picked out a simple, Easter-themed sign and some glittery eggs that would break up the blooms.
Once I had everything I needed, I used a pair of linesman pliers to cut the stems of my flowers. I needed them to be long enough to stick into the foam wreath form, but short enough that they wouldn't pop through the back.
After all of the flowers were perfectly arranged around the foam form, I accented my piece with the glittery Easter eggs, as well as the wooden sign.
Tip: Use hot glue or E6000 to keep the sign and any extra embellishments in place.
Lastly, I tied a long piece of twine around the top section of the wreath, which will allow me to hang it on our front door year after year.
