Hi! I think the grout lines would be problematic with refinishing the tile. I would look for tutorials that help you deal with them first. Good luck!

Hi Judy you can paint tile to give it a different more "Stone-like" look using products such as Rustoleum's counter top painting kits and Rustoleum's bath and tile painting kits HOWEVER you will still, always have of the look of tile because of those grout lines. Would it be possible to remove the tile and start fresh?
I'm assuming you don't want to tear out the tiles?? You could make a smooth surface with tile grout over the tile and use something like this? https://amzn.to/3d3nIXS

I think the Giani kit will work well. I am going to be trying that kit on my bathroom counter soon. Good luck!
You could also use a concrete kit on top of the tile
You could paint it. Here are some ideas: https://www.hometalk.com/search/posts?filter=paint%20counters
You can use a skim coat concrete to fill and level then apply a kit like Rustoleum's for a granite look. Or skip the kit and go with a concrete look.
Yes, you’ll still have grout lines with painting kits. But they can give the look you want.
Skim coating with concrete will take some thought on how the front edge can be made durable,
as well as they’ll need to be sealed because concrete is porous.
If you put real marble or granite tile on the old tile, I would not use real marble!
Any tomato juice, grape juice, wine, vinegar lemon juice, or mustard, will etch the surface at a minimum and then it won’t be polished anymore. Then that etched marble easily stains.
you can paint or simply use epoxy resin all over with color ink that imitaes marble but i would look on videos on youtube to make sure you are ready for that kind of makeover. It is dobable for sure
