Cactus Magnets

Did you know that making magnets is super simple and you can create in basically any shape or design?! This is also such a fun craft to work on with kids if they are old enough to use a hot glue gun while supervised!

Start with just a cookie sheet and a piece of parchment paper.

Next, you will need some colored glue sticks. Did you know they make those?! They come in any color imaginable. I purchased a multi-pack so I will have lots of colors left over. For these magnets I am making cactus, so I will be using green glue.

Heat up your glue and create your cactus shapes. I am free handing mine, but if you feel more comfortable tracing you can print out an image and put it under the parchment paper.

Using a toothpick, make little white dots using acrylic paint to mimic the prickles on cactus.

Lastly we are going to use the hot glue gun again to attach the cactus to some magnets. If you have a cork board you can also glue to push pins if you prefer!

These were so easy and they look adorable by themselves or to hang up artwork, photos, notes, etc. I am already brainstorming what other shapes and objects I can recreate with my other colors!
