How do I remove flex from old wall?
Hi,
Most areas of the wall are very hard to remove the old paint.
It was coated with flex and finishing with acrylic.
Which chemical can soften it for easier removal/ scrapping?
Thank you.
Sammie

I would start with denatured alcohol or Goo Gone Paint Remover.
I found nothing on "flex paint", only on flex seal coatings. They are NOT made to be removed at all! It is supposed to last for 30 years and I fear you've uncovered a monster attempting to remove it!
Did the peeling happen on its own? If so, I would reach out to flex seal and ask pro advice and/or removal or repair as part of their product warranty IF it applies.
Here are a few other bits of info
The Flex Seal Spray is not compatible with the Flex Seal Liquid, and we also do not recommend painting over the Flex Seal Liquid. When you have a moment, message us at Humans@FlexSealProducts.com, so we can further assist you. We look forward to hearing from you, take care and Flex On!
You can see by reading this that there is no method to remove a wall of flex seal. Only methods of removing errant spots on the wrong places.

Hi Sammie, I answered this on the question already asked before :)
Hi Sammie, considering the product I think I would try sanding it off before scraping it off. I don't think anything besides something really strong (such as mineral spirits or paint thinner) will take that product off the wall. I would try sanding it smooth.
What is the wall underneath the flex? Is is sheetrock or cement or plaster? I would think that no matter what you use to remove the top layer there will be some damage below that you'll need to repair. How much repair you want to do will impact your method of removal.
Hi! I remember hearing of flex paint, although google was no help when I tried looking it up. If I remember correctly it wasn't oil based or latex but was an acrylic paint. I would try stripping a small section although that may not be practical for a large area. Scraping and sanding is probably going to rough up the wall underneath. I think I would scrape and sand any loose paint and then seal the wall before repainting. Good luck!

I’m a little confused. Are you trying to remove what’s peeling or what’s behind the peeling? What kind of wall is this and what is the end result you’re looking for?
