How to Clean Oil Stains From Furniture Upholstery
First start with a good vacuuming, spot treatments and then steam clean. Depending on the material, you might follow what the manufacturer recommends.
For odor I prefer using Frebreze Fabric Refresher or use the Dollar Tree brand Extra Strength version. I also like to use the upholstry tool on my carpet cleaner to do soiled fabric that may have odors. For microfiber recliners I use alcohol, dipping a a childs bristle brush in the alcohol and brush the soiled areas to remove body oils on the arms, set and headrest.
Hi! First I vacuum. Then for a deep clean I use the upholstery attachment for my rug shampooer. Check for label instructions, too. There is often a label under the seat cushions. Good luck!
Hi Debra,
Spray with Febreze for fabric, that should do the trick!
OdoBan is my #1 recommendation for any deodorizing, especially upholstered items. It is also a disinfectant. In my book, that's important because if it smells there is probably bacteria growing causing the odor.

Not knowing if it’s pets or smokers or food...
Yes, vacuum not only the cushions, but under the cushions, the crevices and every bit of the sides.
Pull it away from the wall and clean the floor under it.
I would consider spreading some scented baking soda made for carpets on the platform the cushions sit on, for a couple of hours and then vac it off.
While the baking soda is sitting, spot clean the upholstery, especially the cushions.
Then I’d spray the wipe thing with generic Lysol.
Oxiclean spray!!!!!!!!!!!
I use this and it works to eliminate pet odors: https://amzn.to/2RwTcyb
