Yes, this can be done fairly easily with ceiling mounted curtain rods, which are available with different styles of mounting hardware.

You can install a ceiling track curtain rod and run a curtain through the middle of the room like the tracks used in hospitals to give patients the illusion or privacy.

you could use a tension rod if the length of the room isn't too long or hang an eye hook on the wall on both side and hang up a rope, chain etc for the curtain
Hello. I think using a system like hospital bay -beds have with curtains can be pulled around each unit might be considered to divide your room in two separate areas.

You can definitely do this. I would put an eye bolt on each side then run a heavy duty wire to hang the curtains.
We did this in our daughters room. We hung up a string and added 2 shower curtains to it. Magic way to get my girls to stop fighting over space!

You will have to add a curtain rod attached to the ceiling. which can be tricky... the other way is purchasing room dividers.
