Prune in the spring
Hello Ron. Cut them back in early spring down to growing set of leaves. Fertilize with shop bought or homemade or add tea bags or coffee grouts and banana skins to water you use in watering can.
I added some fertilizer to them early in the year, along with sulphur to encourage blue blooms and I've never had a year so full of blooms! Last year I only got one bloom per plant. I think the bloom cycle last year was awful, but was great this year. Be sure to trim dead heads at the end of the season to promote more growth the following year.
