Keep it off the ground, but not by using more wood. You need to have a sheet of metal under the playground set. After it's off the ground, cover it.
Using chemicals or natural products will kill the termites. Elevating the wood off the ground like Emre Mathis suggest can prevent infestation.
Agreed, if you can get it off the ground that would be your best bet!
I know there are natural repellents like vinegar and orange oil. You can use them and spray them around the base to discourage the termites.
also make sure you are using pressure treated lumber on your repairs which helps with termite issues
We use termite control Hi-Yield 38Plus on all our exposed wood as well as mulch and home. No issues. You can pick it up at a hardware store. It has to mixed to the termite ratio and applied with a sprayer.
Most termite sprays are pretty toxic, and since its for kids to play on, I think I would opt for a natural spray like Greenerways Bug Repellent or Wondercide. You may have to spray a bit more often but its totally safe if your not allergic to any of the oils.
Treat the wood with a preservative like Thompson’s water seal make shure you get the bottom of the legs in the ground good if some wood sticks out untreated they will start to feed on it
Heres a site that will help you out

Thompson’s water seal it get all the wood or. You could use a stain with preservative
A marine based paint for the exterior would form a good shield, I agree with getting the wood off the ground and onto metal.
The simplest and most effective way to protect wood is to apply some varnish.
