Vintage Buffet in Interesting Aqua

This vintage buffet had lots of scratches, dents, and dings (and a painted top) when it was left in my garage. With a little TLC and a little paint it now has a whole new lease on life!
Before. It's a beautiful, well constructed piece, but the finish had seen better days.
I love to refinish a nice wood top. This one was pretty beat up but I was able to remove most of the scratches with 150 grit. I was careful sanding because it's a veneer and I didn't want to accidentally sand through it. When it was bare I gave it a coat of Java Gel from General Finishes to bring out the beautiful grain. I then gave it 3 coats of Minwax Polycrylic.
I did three coats of ProClassic modified latex from Sherwin Williams in Interesting Aqua.

AvonelleRed on Sep 25, 2014That is simply gorgeous! I love it. I really need to try using gel stain. From everything I've seen, it looks so awesome. You did a truly fabulous job, and I love that color.
