$500 Master Bedroom Makeover
by

When we first moved into our house, we had hand-me-down furniture and hardly any decor. With a little patience and a budget, I finally got my dream bedroom!
Here's the before of the bedroom. Very beige and boring.
And here it is after! A ton brighter. New things that were brought in were thrifted and recovered chairs, new bedding, a small table, new curtains, crafted accessories and clearance lamps.
The old furniture just got a face lift with some paint. I also did a square board and batten wall treatment on the wall to make the bedroom a ton brighter. I think this made the biggest difference in the room. (here's the link for the tutorial: http://www.thriftyandchic.com/2014/10/square-board-and-batten-wall-treatment.html)
Another addition was this DIY curved upholstered headboard I made for about $20.
Enjoyed the project?

Nancy Louise Hopple on Jan 13, 2017You should be proud of yourself for going from bland to magical. You have "the touch" it takes to make a house a home. Keep up the great work and enjoy every step. I must admit, I'm a wee bit jealous.
