Need Help Identifying a Flower

My mother in law brought me these very pretty flowers! I would like to grow some but I don't know what the one particular flower is??? I have never seen it before. I am on the coast, in Oregon. Thanks so much!!

Linda on Nov 14, 2013It's always best to buy from a local nursery for quality and size. You also order them in many colors from flower catalogs such as Spring Hill, Brecks, and White flower Farm. The catalog plants are small in size, but mine always have cached up with my others in the garden. They also will replace the plant if it dies. Happy Gardening. ~Little Leaf of Green Branch~

Flowerscapes Garden Design & Landscaping on Jan 31, 2014A friend in the burbs of Atlanta gave me some of her purplish blueish native Phlox. I have it in sun and some in part shade. So far now problem with powdery mildew over the two years that I have had it. Hers, however was in more shade and she had a little bit of a problem with it. See if you can find a native cultivar of the color you want.
