My friend loves butterflies and some steampunk styles so I figured I would create one for her. This is my first attempt so please be kind, but feedback on how I can improve would be greatly appreciated!
These are the materials I started with.
I cut the sponge and dabbed into the paint....
and then dabbed the paint on the box.
I then printed and cut out a butterfly drawing and placed it on the box and then placed gears and buttons on the top of the box. No glue at this point, just wanted to see how it looked.
I then began hot gluing, first the print off, then the parts.
And a little more glued down....
and this is the rest of the story. What do ya think?
Enjoyed the project?

Have a question about this project?
Love this butterfly and can't wait to try..Have some pieces I have been holding to figure out what to do with and these will be perfect for the butterfly project. One question: What kind of glue did you use?

I love anything steampunk but I have never attempted it myself. If this was your first time then I say congratulations because you definitely got the talent. Now I’ll have to attempt it. What kind of glue would you suggest? I know you used hot glue but you mentioned that next time you’ll use something else. Awesome job!!!
