I love the look of birch bark, and for Valentine's Day, I thought I would use some bark to make a cute triptych. Check out my blog for more details on what inspired this handmade art.
Here is the finished triptych.
First, I found a frame I no longer used, and I painted the back a charcoal grey.
Next, I cut up varying sized strips of birch bark for the "trees".
I played around with the placement of the "trees" until I found a configuration I liked.
Next, I used green painters tape rolled into teeny tiny rolls to secure them in place. At first, I tried craft glue, but it didn't seem to adhere properly and the tape worked much better.
Since Valentine's Day is around the corner, I added a cute pink foam heart (which can easily be removed).
I just love the owls. They add the perfect amount of whimsy. This would be perfect for artwork in a nursery.
