Rose Gardens: Trimming The White Roses

I have some of the most beautiful climbing white roses that I've ever seen. I'm grateful for this old fashioned rose. It is such a prolific bloomer. Tending it can be quite painful though because it is a very thorny mangled mess..when not in bloom.
Trimming little by little to get to the main branches.
Working on the top and outer parts of the bushes.
I remember the nests that were built in the mass of roses this year...the Mockingbirds love them!
Finally I got to the main branches and gave them a very severe cut back. I can't wait until Spring to see how well they bloom..I need to repair/replace fence but I think that will be on next year's agenda..
