Pair some MDF letters from the craft store with some reclaimed wood and some bright craft paint, and it's easy to make a fun PLAY sign for a kids' room, playroom, family room, game room or even the garage.
Fun PLAY sign, perfect for a kids' room, play room, family room or even the garage.
Just a few steps, and you have a great oversized sign!
I started out by joining two long pieces of wood together to create a sign. Then I arranged my wooden letters on the sign to make sure they fit.
Next, I applied a thin gray wash to the boards. For more on this technique using chalk paint, click over to my blog for the full tutorial.
Next, I painted the letters in fun colors using craft paint.
Apply heavy-duty wood glue to the back of each letter.
Use books to hold down the letters while the glue dries.
Attach a D-ring to the back of the sign to hang.
