Use Old Dinnerware to Make a Makeup and Jewelry Organizer

Drill holes in the bottom of dinnerware and thread it on a length of pipe to create a one of a kind organizer for makeup and jewelry!
Use a diamond bit to drill a hole in the bottom of a plate, a bowl, and a cup. Drill a countersunk hole in a scrap piece of wood to act as a stand and so that the organizer will stand correctly. Thread the pipe through the wood securing at the bottom (in the countersunk hole) with a nut. Thread the plate on the pipe, then a washer, and a nut securing the plate to the wood stand.
Thread another nut and washer onto the pipe, then add the bowl with another washer and nut. Adjust the lower nut and washer to get the bowl in a suitable position then tighten the upper nut.
Thread another nut and washer on the pipe, then add the cup with another washer and nut. Adjust the lower nut until the cup is in a suitable position then tighten the upper nut. If the pipe is hollow (I used lamp pipe), glue a drawer pull in the top to cover the hole.
Now the organizer is ready for awesome accessories! I used new dinnerware but I think old and antique dinnerware would be fabulous for this project! For a supply list and more information on drilling the holes, check out the blog post!

Is the diamond bit needed because these are glass? I might want to use @Corelle plastic dishes. What kind of bit would I need for that? This looks like a pretty candy or appetizer dish, too. Best wishes 😇

I've seen cool stuff made from stacking silverplate pitchers bowls etc using the same process. Even a huge lamp with an upside punch bowl as a base!

I have made these before using my Dremel tool with a diamond bit. I went on eBay to look for dishes. I found beautiful pieces of bone China that each had a Lily of the Valley on them! There are so many items to choose from. eBay also has the center holders complete with nuts and washers! Pictures below!
