Father's Day Gift Cooler

I NEVER, NEVER, NEVER know what we should do for G for Father’s Day. If he needs a tool, he buys it. If he needs clothes, I buy it (because he HATES shopping). So I thought we got ahead of the game and ordered him this cattle picture, but then my order was somehow mixed up and was never placed. UGH! So now we had to think of something else.
While at Spec’s yesterday to pick up summer adult beverages, I ended up shopping for G some different beers for Father’s Day. I shop by the funny names and the look of the bottle (because I’m thinking…oooo that would be cute for making something). Bracken shops by looking what’s actually in it. So we finally agreed on 3 different ones. We also picked up a bottle of Knob Creek Bourbon. This was my idea, purely bought off the name, because he grew up on Knob Creek. I have absolutely NO idea how it tastes, just liked the name! Then we picked up some beer chips that G likes.
Next we purchased this……
Yes, a bait bucket. We are using it to make a gift basket off the Kevin Fowler song “Beer, Bait, & Ammo”. We like Kevin Fowlers music! In fact we enjoy any Texas Country Music Artist.

First I needed put something in the bottom to give it some height. So we bought 2 rolls of duct tape to put in the bottom. What guy doesn’t need a roll a duct tape? Duct tape and expand-a-foam can fix and seal anything! You know you've used it to repair all sorts of things in your own home.
Then I just started placing the chips, beer, and these caulk sealer tips (these are the blue and yellow things that look like the female symbol in health) in the bucket. Next I just placed crinkle paper shreds around the items. I also made a beer, bait, & ammo signs from Wordart on my computer. I just printed these out, cut them out, and stuck them to some patterned scrapbook paper. (The beer sign was simply taped to a wooden skewer).
Here is what we ended up with. I also found this Pearl cooler while I was out thrifting after I made the gift cooler. So he will be getting that as well. I just couldn't pass it up. It will be great in the house holding blankets.
Hope this gives you a quick idea if your still struggling for a gift. You can put anything in there that your hubby likes. Date night ideas, family outing ideas, fishing gear, etc. Hope you all have a Happy Father’s Day spending the day with your loved ones.
