This project was part of the amazing Cent-Sational Salvage Challenge. When I found out that the month's item of choice was kitchen utensils, I was a little taken back, but after putting my thinking cap on I came up with the idea to make a candleholder. I'm so glad I did!
I started out by heading to the Habitat for Humanity Restore and picking up a set of knives and a saucer.
I definitely needed my hubby's strength for this project! I had him bend the knives for me so they were bent almost at a right angle. Make sure they are bent at the same length or your candleholder will be uneven!
I then painted the saucer with some chalk paint I had on hand.
Get out the glue gun! I attached the knives to the saucer plate using a hot glue gun, arranging them flat in a triangle to form a tripod base for the candleholder.
That's it! All done!
Well, I needed to add a candle, but then the project was complete.
Don't those knives make excellent legs for this candleholder?
