Scrap Wood {Antique Bead Board} Address Sign

I had leftover scraps of antique bead board after finishing another project with the wood. I love bead board, and I especially love bead board with a history. There's not a chance I was willing to throw away any pieces bigger than my thumb. I used some of the leftover scraps to build this super simple address sign.
Lots of Douglas Fir bead board from an old milk barn in Wisconsin,
just waiting to be painted,
and installed on a ceiling. There will be more on this updated bathroom in a future post, but for now, it's what I did with the leftovers!
I ripped a piece of plywood down and used wood glue and nails to secure each board to the base.
I spray painted cheap aluminum numbers from my local home improvement store ($1 each).
It took me 8 years to install an address on our house. Once I finally got around to it, this project took a total of 30 minutes (not including waiting for paint to dry).
I've updated a lot more than our address sign. Come over to the blog to see the full details on my front porch makeover, and information about that antique bead board ceiling I'm putting in.
