I've done a few of these now, as I am trying to perfect my technique of this. I LOVE the way the design comes out onto the vases. Some of these used whole pieces of lace that covered the entire vase, others uses strips, as the shapes were odd and one complete piece would wrinkle in places. Like I said, still working out the kinks but here's a few I've done just to show you.
This was my latest one, and is more of a planter then a vase. This is finished project.
It started out like this, and I did not like the color.
So used this GORGEOUS summer yellow color. Then laid the lace over the planter, being careful it did not wrinkle in places and spray painted white over the lace. You have to be careful and match up designs here if your using strips of lace verses the entire piece of lace.
And again, is finished project.
Here is the very first one I did for my mom.
This one was on plastic, verses glass or ceramic and did not work as well. Also, if using glass, and you mess up, you can wipe off with Hydrogen peroxide. Not so on ceramic, you would have to repaint the piece and start over. Plastic, the same.
This one was a variation, just using lace on part of the vase, instead of the entire piece.

as long as i pulled it off slowly and was careful not to RIP it off, it was ok. Some places did smear a little.

Thank you. I did it around the outside frame of my bathroom mirror too. Turned out beautiful.
