Powder Room Makeover

2 Materials
When I purchased this house, I inherited a builder-quality powder room with standard white cabinets and cheap hardware. To give this little room a facelift for not much money I used chalk paint and was to paint the cabinets. I then added reproduction antique hardware. I also changed out the ugly one-knob faucet for a black/brown faucet, added matching towel rack and tissue holder and a black framed square mirror the vanity. The result was one of the cutest rooms in the house!
With chalk paint, no need to sand. Simply paint. Then add a top coat in a different color and wipe away some of the top paint to give it an antique look. Finally, wax the cabinet and add hardware. The colors I used were green/blue coat followed by a brown top coat.

I didn't take before picture but wish I had. Sorry! The cabinets were white with large, ornate brass hardware. The cabinet hardware was actually in the very middle of the cabinet doors. I filled the old holes before painting. I love chalk paint...no pre-sanding required!!
