Patti - I had not thought of using the dark wax and think that is a great idea.

Glad you liked my suggestion. Post the results once you decide and make the changes. I think you're going to have a nice piece no matter which choice you make. We've just finished building a new house and haven't even been able to move in yet. During the building process and trying to sell the old one, I've had to suppress my creative needs. I'm so ready to settle down and start using some of the awesome ideas I've seen on this site.
