Plain Vintage Dresser to Shabby Chic Charmer

This is a ca. 1940 dresser that I repaired and refurbished to a pink and white charmer.
I bought this sad dresser from an antique dealer who just did not want to deal with it. It was very plain and painted a sad yellow, and two of its wheels were broken.
This is the before of the mirror which was in surprisingly good shape for its age.

After adding appliques, replacing the broken wheels with new, old ones, and repairing the veneer I painted it with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.

I painted the top with 3 slightly, varying shades of gray that I mixed to give it more depth and character after distressing and waxing.

The large wooden knobs were replaced with vintage, glass ones. I also added floral appliques.

The inside of the drawers were also painted with Old White.

Here you see a close up of the aging on the mirror near the top.
And there you have it from sad to charming. Have a great day.
