DIY Wall Mounted Nightstands

I wanted to save space in our bedroom, so I up-cycled a pair of cabinet doors into floating nightstands. It would have been much easier to buy new shelves, but turning something discarded into something new and fabulous is much more rewarding!
First, I found a pair of old cabinet doors at the ReStore for $5 each. Then I sanded off the finish, filled the old hardware holes and drilled new holes for the "L" brackets.
Once the holes were all ready, I stained the doors with two coats of dark walnut stain, followed by a coat of clear polyacrylic. Then, my husband helped me attach "L" brackets and secure the shelves to the wall on either side of our bed.
I'm loving the end result! These bedside tables are exactly the right height and save a lot of room in our tiny bedroom.
