So...I have way too many earrings, but when I gather beading supplies, my creative juices just start flowing and I can't help myself. icon So, of course I need more storage and I don't want to take up a lot of space. Where you may see average office supplies, I see earring storage for multiple pairs of earrings!!
I found this wire file/letter holder at Goodwill for a dollar!
I decided that this was going to hold my Halloween and Fall earrings and I didn't think they would show up very well against the black wire, so after a couple of coats of white spray paint, I had a good background to show my earrings. I didn't take photos of the spray paint or spray painting process, but just 2 light coats of any white spray paint will work. This can be customized with any color to match your decor. icon If you are spraying a color, I would suggest using a primer or white paint before your color.

Now, simply hang earrings through the wire! This works with hook earrings and post earrings.

I like that it's portable and I have 2 different sides I can use. Obviously, this wouldn't work for clip-on earrings, but I don't have any of those. When the season is over, I can put a plastic bag over the whole thing to keep dust out and put it on the closet shelf until next year. I hope you like my office supplies turned earring storage. It was very cost effective and easy to do!
