Our Farmhouse Bedroom Upgrade On The Cheap

1 Day
Easy
Hey friends! I hope your friday is full of sunshine, starbucks lattes and excitement in anticipation to the weekend??! Well, take a break out of your day to check out our farmhouse master bedroom reveal. This is not at all what I had anticipated for our bedroom. But living as a family of five in a small farmhouse we were left with no option. We had to put my desk in our room. As much as I loved the idea of having my cute work area that I wrote about here, it was so unpractical. I had no room for my printer, cameras, booking system etc. You need those kind of things to run a business I'm finding... Just Jokes. I really did already know that.
Our lamps I snagged on clearance at Urban Barn last spring and they fit our room perfectly. I originally purchased them for our living room, but I felt they were a bit harsh for the room. Our layered bed definitely plays down the harshness of the lamps.
So lets dive right on in. Our bed is pretty much my favourite place in the entire home. It's where I dream and feel like I can shut the world out. Where I can pray and snuggle my littles and feel like nothing else matters. It truly is my safe haven. I wanted this place to be plain and not busy at all so I went with white bedding. The bedding is West Elms famous pintuck set that I'm absolutely in love with. I had it for our Queen bed two years ago and I just keep buying it. This is by no means new at all, I just keep bleaching it. Paired with oversized white pillows from Homesense and lightly stripped blue/white bedding for a bit of a nautical vibe to pull our rug and ottoman in. We made the Ottoman, See the tutorial on our blog or on Hometalk.
Our side tables of course, like our bed, were built by my husband Glen. I mean, we kind of have to own our own furniture as we constantly have clients walking through our home. So it would be a pretty bad idea to own anything but our stuff.
So here's where our room gets tricky. I wanted some type of divide between the work area & our bed. Our dresser is pretty massive and our room is not. We had to stuff it on the wall between our bed and desk. At first I hated it, then I realized I could hide all my cords behind the dresser so it made the world align again.
I know you all are on the edges of your seats, dying to see my workspace... RIGHT... RIGHT?

Okay... so it's not that exciting. But it's sure making my life a lot more organized! My printer has a little home under my desk for now.
Hope y'all enjoyed our farmhouse bedroom reveal. It's our cozy little haven. We cannot wait for someday when we can have a actual office. But for now, we're grateful that we even have space for a desk.

Have a awesome weekend & I'll see you on monday!
