This is an easy TV stand DIY project using limited offcuts during a lockdown.

For a while now, we've had a large TV sat on the floor. So I'm going to show you how I made this using only offcuts of structural timber.

First, I found my random offcuts out of my garage. Above, I'm marking them all to the same size as the smallest piece for the legs.

Note - I picked my 4 best pieces, not 5 as seen above.

To cut my TV stand's legs, I used a chop saw (aka mitre saw making cross cuts).

You could use a handsaw instead as I often do.

Then after cutting a length that would be the width, I drew two dashes where I'd make pocket holes.

Then made my pocket holes.... two per end.

Then screwed the legs on to the longer piece with pocket hole screws.

And repeated for the front section.

I then stood up my two main pieces and measured what length I'd need my top slats.

After more pocket holes drilled, I'm holding a straight offcut against my legs and slat and screwed again with pocket holes.

Once I'd added one either side, I laid it upside down and evenly screwed some more in.

NOTE: If you have a large enough piece for the top, you won't need as many slats.

For extra support, I added another between the legs.

Then painted the entire piece with my favourite no-prep and no seal black paint by Rustoleum in satin.
