Can fiberglass be the outside of my fire pit?

A steel fire ring would be much better. As a non-combustible material, the steel will ward off heat and keep the wall itself from prematurely dehydrating and crumbling; this will preserve the looks and structural integrity of your fire pit longer.

Fiberglass does not burn right away, it smoulders and eventually gives off toxic fumes of formaldehyde and other chemicals. Plus the fibers themselves can irritate the eyes, skin, and respiratory tract. This stuff is just not meant to be breathed in.

Hello. I think the heat coming off the fire pit would damage the fiberglass. I would not suggest using it. Alternatively we’ve had an unfortunate situation with our Weber Grill being too close to our siding just the heat thrown off the grill can warp melt vinyl siding.

Absolutely not. Burning fiberglass gives off toxic gas because it contains formaldehyde, styrene, acetone, and other dangerous chemicals.

As long as it’s thick in between and the heat won’t touc( it because it will melt.maybe put like 2 layers of brick or crushed stone
