Step 1

Empty the backpack of its contents.

Step 2

Spray enough hairspray directly onto the stain to thoroughly dampen the area.

Step 3

Press down on the stain with a clean, white cloth to blot out the hairspray and ink. Continue doing this until you don't see anymore marker ink transferring to the cloth.

Step 4

Dab the area with another cloth that is wet with clean water.

Step 5

Blot dry again.

Step 6

Dab rubbing alcohol onto the stain if any marks remain.

Step 7

Blot dry once more.

I have heard that toothpaste mixed with baking soda will work. Some people use rubbing alcohol and say it works.

Try some rubbing alcohol.

They seem to get out most any stain!!!

I have 2 possibilities, not sure which will work for you. First, mix baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and Dawn dish detergent to a make a paste. Apply a small amount to a hidden area first to test for color fastness. If no discoloration, then apply to the stain, let sit for 1/2 or more then wash the mixture off. Secondly, I have used Go-jo (orange scented) hand cleaner (used by mechanics to remove oil from their hands) on ink stains, tar roof stains, food stains, and have had GREAT success. It is a chemical and does have an odor, so if this is a problem, try the first suggestion.

There is a product named Goop at Home Depot or Lowes. They make several types that remove all different kinds of products. Just read the labels and decide which is best for your needs. Have used it in the past and it worked.

Try some hair spray or rubbing alcohol...wet the stain and when it begins to break up work laundry soap into it...repeat until the stain lifts.
