I made a thick paste of Oxy Clean with water and scrubbed with an old toothbrush. Worked great. Once clean, I sealed thoroughly with grout sealer
I always go straight to bleach and a scourer. Words perfectly every time.

We used a steamer that we’ve had for many years which has a flexible hose ~24” long and distilled water but first saturated the grout lines with Oxycleana little at a time (especially on the vertical surfaces) and for the most part they came out very nice.
You can make your own homemade grout cleaner! Mix together 1/2 cup of baking soda, 1/4 cup of hydrogen peroxide, and 1 tsp dish soap. Apply cleaning mixture onto grout, wait 5-10 minutes, scrub and rinse.
Lysol Lime & Rust Remover Toilet Bowl cleaner, comes in a black squirt bottle. Scrub with Scrub Daddy or Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.
