Wipe with soapy water and then clean with a chrome polish. WD40 is also good for cleaning. This should remove the rust. Then sealed to prevent more rust.
I like to use WD40 and a green kitchen scrubby. Some will use 0000 steel wool

Use WD-40 on a cloth and rub it off. I it doesn't all come off, repeat the process but leave it a while be for rubbing it off. Best wishes

My dad had a second hand walker that was chrome and rusted. Believe it or not after reading about the foil tip I gave it a try.
I was very surprised at the results. It removed almost all of the rust and gave the frame a wonderful shine at the same time.
Just crumble up a piece of clean foil and sort of sand on the item.
Hi Dave, try balling up some aluminum foil and rubbing the chrome as stated above. It will remove most everything and help to shine up the chrome. Try and rub the tinfoil over the chrome regularly to remove any tiny rust bits and it will help to prevent major rust from developing.
You can use a chrome cleaner, but once the chrome starts to come off, I would touch it up with Rustoleum Chrome spray paint. What is the piece?

Hi! Aluminum foil does a great job! Tough spot? Try a little Bartender's Friend on a cloth that's moist. If you like the look of it once you clean it up, you might want to seal it. There are sprays that can spruce up chrome, too . Check out the spray paints Rustoleum makes! Good luck and stay safe!
