Halloween is coming up fast and it is so fun to decorate for the holiday. This year, I have challenged myself to reuse what I already have. I decided to see if I could come up with a fun idea using a plastic jack-o-lantern candy bucket I had on hand.

I used one plastic jack-o-lantern candy bucket, one candle pedestal, black paint, black crepe paper/streamers, black raffia, a paper mache witch's hat and a hot glue gun.

First, I painted the witch's hat and candle stand black with some left over paint and let dry.

Next, I hot glued the black crepe paper streamer to the brim of the hat and folded as I went to create a ruffle.

After I finished the first row, I added a second so the brim was completely covered.

Next, I hot glued the jack-o-lantern to the candle pedestal / holder.

I removed the handle from the bucket as well.

I did not hot glue the hat on. I wanted to keep my options open. I could use this for a candy holder.

I think he turned out pretty cute! The only things I purchased were the hat and the crepe paper for a whopping $2.50! The rest I had on hand.
