Hello. Its been a while since my last posted project.

Today I made me time for candle making.😁

I've never tried it before.

Cant be that hard right.?. Temp. Wax oils wicks.

I had a box full of white used candles. That had been used over Christmas When I've used my candles I put the leftover bits into the box saving to use again. For camping burners ect..

my candle jars were empty. So I made my own recycled candles. With essential oils. Must I say I'm proud they smell good an burn well. Saves me money plus I can gift these for valentine's day. So winner winner.

Below is my box of used candles

My used candles.

I removed all the wicks, an black burned bits. Plus the plastic an sticker from the bottom.

I only need the wax.

You will need a sauce pan. they are a couple of ways ppl melt wax.

I used a saucepan, hot water inside on a low heat standing another pan inside abit like chocolate:)

I had my jars cleaned out waiting

The jars were candles. £8.99

I quickly cleaned these with the microwave. 20secs.

Throughout lockdown i bought candle making accessories. Knowing candles especially scented ones were rising in price.

Sticky double sided tabs

Wicks. A metal wick holder but you could use a pencil.

Above are my jars all prepped.

Now to melt my wax

I breake it up an put it all in my saucepan

Remove the wicks.

And the plastic stickers you don't want this in your wax while melting.

Below is my wax melted.

I placed a smaller saucepan in another an melted it on a low heat.

Above my wax all melted no bits left. You will no when its melted.

I transferred this to a heat proof jug. To make easier to pour in to my jars.

Grease proof paper I used to stand the candles on to catch any wax. As it can be a little messy.

So I got to fill these with the little box of wax

I had used wax melts they were soy.

So I added these to my jug an melted them down also keeping separate

It gave it a red couler an melted well I waited untill my wax had cooled to

140f before I added my essential Oils.

Making sure I never everparated my Oils.

Also for a longer, lasting scented candle

I used Palma violet an

sherbet lemon about 15 drops of each.

Trying to make look as level as i could.

Before I added the second layer I cooled each jar in cold water to speed up the wax setting .

If not it will sink an not lie level. Stand in a cold place to set.

Once set cut your wick to size

As the top layer is red I will gift these for valentine's day.

It's all set an Smells beautiful

To think these were all used apart from the Oils I added

I have my own beautiful smelling homemade candles. Costing nothing. Only time. Thanks for reading
