buy mugs at the dollar store and fill with candy etc
As a retired teacher I can tell you any and all gifts are appreciated. You may want to consider something that is not school-related, since teachers get a lot of mugs, markers, pens, etc. One that I remember receiving was a mason jar filled with biscotti.
Oh, what fun! Depending on how much time you have, I'd suggest contacting several local stoes and ask if they'd be willing to donate some items to the cause. Some ideas would be to place in each bag: Lollipops, Pens & Pencils, Coupons, Magnets, individual tissue packages, flower seeds, sodas, small gift certificates, etc. Many stores will willingly donate items to increase there goodwill in a community. The reason I'm offering this idea is that you didn't mention if you have a budget for the gift bags. Some of the same ideas can be used if you do.
do you have a budget for 70 gifts? if so get them a $5 gift card from Starbucks or Chick fil A which all teachers appreciate
All good suggestions so far. As a former teacher, the most meaningful gifts were the one's made by my students, either individually or as a class. Just a simple thank you, funny observation, cute drawing, etc.
Hello I think gift cards are always welcome maybe to your local coffee shop.
What about something like this: brownies in a jar! https://www.frugalfamilytimes.com/2018/09/best-brownies-ever-so-easy-just-one-bowl/
Dollar store coffee mugs ,or they have make your own ornaments ,or go around to local businesses and ask for donations in exchange for free advertising in the school paper
I would say try to refrain from giving candy or edibles. There is only so many sweets any teacher can eat up before they go stale, and then it becomes a chore to begin giving it away so it doesn't 'go to waste'. Like other professions these days, many teachers are trying to not eat so many sweets, in the goal that they don't all 'go to waist'.
Gift cards are the perfect solution for an event like this, perhaps others would be up to contributing. That's what we do as thank you gifts for those who have been most helpful to us throughout the year. Be sure to write the amount on the face of it and a quick message of appreciation, you could also tape the receipt to the card in case they have any questions cashing it.
I know Chick Fil A and Starbucks have $5 cards.
Hi Peggy, handmade cards are always a winner, and if you can find inexpensive beads you can make these "You're a Star" gifts quickly and easily - https://acraftymix.com/blog/bead-star-appreciation-gift/
Do you have a budget? There are tons of nice things you can make for $5-$10 with Dollar Tree supplies. It depends on how much work you want to put into it. You might check out Olivia's Romantic Home on YouTube for ideas if you want to go that route.
Instead of individual one-time treats or more mugs, I would suggest chipping together the amount x 70, and purchase a lasting gift large item that could be used multiple times by all the students and staff, such as a parachute.
The dollar store has coffee mugs you could write something on them.like thank you or your the best.
Here are some really great ideas https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/holidays/gift-ideas/g1432/teacher-gifts/&ved=2ahUKEwinmOX1pYL0AhU7zIsBHWqeCdwQFnoECAkQAQ&usg=AOvVaw2-lpNlqRUuSvoyDdjrU9xl
As a former teacher I can say that I adored anything I was given. Gift cards, treats, kid made or store bought. I know it can get pricey buying for 70, but $5 gift cards to the Dollar Tree are always a winner for personal or professional use.
