As some of you know, if you follow me on Hometalk, I use jute rope quite frequently in my projects. This wreath form and jute rope came from the Dollar Tree. I actually buy packs of jute just about every time I go to the DT. I started with a candy cane shaped wreath form. I began by holding a straight piece of rope about 4 inches long. Then I began weaving the rope from the outside rim over then under the next wire, then over the next, then under the next wire. On the next row back over, then under, then over, then under. With this second row I start pulling the beginning piece of rope and enclosing it underneath the wreath. This is like you cover the beginning thread with cross stitch. I kept pushing all the weaving as close as it would go. This was to cover as much of the wire as possible. You will have to let the rope unwind occasionally. It tends to get twisted too tight. You can refer to my first wreath done in this fashion at https://www.hometalk.com/diy/craft/wreaths/dollar-tree-jute-wreath-43679532.

I used 4 full packs of the rope and another partial pack to finish it up. Because the DT has lowered the amount of rope in the pack from 13.5 ft. to 9.5 ft., you may need to purchase more than the 5 packs. I have so much of this rope in my stash and I take the labels off when I get it home, I’m not sure which length of rope I used. Sorry! This is how the back of the woven cane looks.

Here is the wreath form with just jute rope on it.

I have an accumulation of sea shells here at home picked up from many years of strolling along various beaches. Decided I would hot glue shells to a strip of vinyl that I have saved that came wrapped around a set of towels I had purchased. I used nail polish remover to get the black advertising off the plastic. This is the strip of vinyl I used to attach to my wreath form.

Sorry, I forgot to take a photo of the vinyl wrapped around the wreath before I started putting shells on it . This is how it looks from the back. I wrapped the the wreath because I would be using a good deal of hot glue to hold the sea shells. Used this method in case I wanted to re-use the wreath with other decorations in the future.

I hot glued sea shells in random fashion onto the vinyl until I filled it up. I know it’s pretty rough looking on the back but only you will know. Lol. I then used a remnant of left over ribbon to fashion a bow. I then attached the bow onto the wreath. It’s now ready to be used for Christmas 2021. It will be hanging in our beach themed bathroom upstairs. Another project done. Here it is completed.
