I had this small sign from the Dollar Tree. I wanted to use the back side to make a sign welcoming cold weather.

Here is what I started with. Cute huh!

I turned it over and painted the outside and rim with this paint. Oh, and I distressed it too!

Every once in a while I look at designs that I have made or ones that they have in Cricut’s Design Space. If you don’t have Design Space you could print out a design from your printer or even free hand it. I found this one and it was perfect for my little sign.

I cut it out in vinyl and stuck it on a piece of vellum paper.

To give the box height, I painted an old wooden spool black.

I used tacky glue to adhere the sign to the spool so it could be taken off when I’m dne with it for the season. To stick the vellum to the back of the sign, are used double sided tape.

And here it is on my mantle. I love it!
