Raise your hand if you too love to decorate for the changing seasons with signs!

I love signs because they tell the full story in a jiffy... and they are easy to make and store!

Since I haven't picked up any white pumpkins yet, I decided to challenge myself to paint them on a sign instead...

Grabbing a simple fence plank, a couple stencils and my favorite paint, here's the adorable fall results! So fast I ended up making 3...

This is such a great project to decorate with, gift or even sell! Think you'll give one a try?

Here's how I did it:

Be on the lookout for falling down fences! These cedar planks right here are pure gold and how all my signs (and so much more) start!

I scavenge the wood, pressure wash it, then store it until needed.

Prepping the sign board

Cut the board to your desired length, then cut an arrow tip on one side on 2 45 degree angles.

Then position a stencil of choice into place.

Stenciling

Next up was stenciling in the images! This makes the project SO easy to repeat with flawless results each and every time.

The lettering was stenciled in black, and the pumpkin in white for a pretty neutral take.

Here's how to stencil to achieve super crisp images:

  1. Load a stencil brush with paint
  2. Remove most paint onto a rag until brush feels dry
  3. Tap or swirl paint through the stencil for desired effect

Add twine, then decorate!

Tie a bit of twine around the other end, and the results are irresistibly rustically cute!

This sign is propped up in front of my shed, however it would look equally adorable on a front porch with surrounding pumpkins, or hung up indoors too!

This sign was so quick and easy to make, I ended up making 3!

Such a cool project if you love to gift or sell things you make!

Or just maybe your shed could use a little fall fun too...
