A Cake Pan Valentine Wreath

Wreaths don't have to be made out of flowers or grapevine. Think outside the box. I chose to use my heart shaped cake pan (that I've used for years) for this wreath. And it was so easy I think I'll make more when I find another cake pan!

All you need is a heart shaped cake pan, some card stock or thick paper, string, ribbon, beads, string or twine, double stick tape, hot glue, needle, scissors and some stick on letters. Actually, you can just draw the letters on if you'd like.

Cut out a few hearts for the letters to make the garland that hangs below the cake pan. Mine were about 3" tall because the stick on letters I got were about 2 " tall. Use a hole punch or simply stick the needle and string through the paper hearts. To keep them facing forward, go through twice. After the first one, add a couple of beads in between and knot the thread to keep them in place. Make the garland as long as you'd like.

After the garland was made I measured and cut the ribbon that would go around the cake pan for added cuteness. Adhere to the pan using double sided tape. Next I cut a piece of twine and hot glued it to the top of the back of the pan. This will be used to hang it and the glue won't show since it's on the back side. Next hot glue whatever you choose to hang inside the cake pan. I chose a galvanized heart but added some of the left over paper for more color. You could hang just about anything you'd like. How about a vintage Valentine card, or a picture of you and your sweetie? So many options!

After hot gluing the galvanized heart inside, I hung the entire cake pan wreath inside an empty frame. It's so lightweight you only need a small nail. And I taped the garland to the back of the frame. It turned out so cute! For the full details, check out the post on my blog.
