Use an inexpensive grape vine wreath and change out the floral stems with the seasons!

I love a pretty door wreath, but I don't love to spend lots of money to buy them!

The solution I've found is to DIY my own wreath using a simple grape vine wreath with pretty floral stems.

This could easily be changed out with each season, too!

We have double front doors, which means TWO wreaths. So for us, finding a way to get a less expensive wreath was key!

SUPPLIES TO DIY YOUR OWN WREATH:

  • grape view wreath in size you prefer
  • floral stems of choice
  • floral wire trimmers
  • hot glue gun ( This is optional!)

STEPS FOR MAKING A SIMPLE WREATH:

You guys, this is about as easy as it comes. I suggested you could have a hot glue gun just in case, but I really don't think it's needed!

You would use the hot glue to secure the floral stems. I did not do this and haven't had any issues, but if you are in a really windy area, you might consider this.

1) Cut floral stems

Determine the general look you are going for. Once this is decided, you can start cutting the floral stems to the size you need.

You really do need floral wire trimmers or something similar. The floral stems are not easy to cut with scissors!

If you don't have a pair yet, it is worth the investment. I got mine with the 40% off Hobby Lobby coupon and use them ALL of the time!

2) Stick the floral stem directly into the grape vine wreath

I find that the floral stems stay in very well simply by sticking them into the grape vine wreath!

Don't overthink this, I promise it's really this easy! Simply stick the floral stem in, and move them around as needed.

3) Bend the floral stems as needed to shape your wreath

Once I had all of my floral stems in place, I bent the stems as needed to get everything just how I wanted it!

If you don't love it, move the stems around until you do! You could easily make your wreath in under 15 minutes if you aren't a bit perfectionist.

What I love about this is I know it's super easy to change.

If I come across an inexpensive floral stem arrangement that I love, I can always add it to the wreath later!

I've also made a pretty DIY magnolia wreath using this same method!

THAT'S IT! An inexpensive DIY wreath you can change out with the seasons!
