Centerpiece Idea With Books

This centerpiece idea can be used for any theme and any season. These were made for Christmas. You can use 1 or 2 books wrapped with ribbon and then decorate the tops.
You can see here that I used the Reader's Digest condensed books which you can pick up reasonably priced at Goodwill. Estate sales are another great place to find them. I use whatever ribbon goes with my theme or season, it can be wired ribbon or not. The wired ribbon may be easier to make the bow stand up and look nice. I wrap the ribbon around both ways and then make a bow for the top. You do not have to tie the bow if that is hard to do. You can make a bow separate and glue it on. I actually glue everything to the ribbon so I can remove it and the book is usable again for anything including reading. :)
You can see that, along with the ribbon bow, this one has some white poly-fil, a large poinsettia, a plastic ornament, some gold garland and a gold snowflake. Most of this was up cycled form my collection of Christmas items from years past. It does not have to be new to be beautiful.
This one has a decorative pick with the poly-fil, ornament and garland. You can also use green garland and votive cups with candles if the centerpieces are going to be monitored throughout the event.

I hope you enjoy making these for your events.
