Get a craft wreath made from straw and add a wire hanger. Starting at center hole and outer edges glue pinecones on with hot glue continue up both sides until you cover the wreath. Fill in bare spots with the smallest cones. Finish with a clear spray to make them shine. Fall/winter wreath that makes a beautiful gift, hang on fireplace or front door. A few acorns or whole unshelled nuts looks beautiful on it as well to fill gaps.
My mom made little Santas out of pine cones years ago. She made red felt hats with a piece of cotton on top, a piece of felt for the face and drew on the features, then used another piece of cotton ball stretched out for a big beard. Super cute and I have them now.

You can put them in a basket or other container with fairy lights, use them in a bowl as a centerpiece, make a wreath, or scent them using cinnamon.

I used to make pinecone trees with my mom when I was little. We bought foam cones and then glued the pine cones on. You could then even add some glitter or flocking to the ends for a little snow effect.
Fill up a large basket with them. Add bows for a special touch. Make a wreath. Roll in peanut butter then birdseed for birdfeeders. Spray paint some of them for variety.
