Hi everyone!! So, I had been eyeing this very expensive mirror from z gallerie but the $800 price tag was a bit too much for me. So, I decided to create my own very inexpensive version using a large mirror from walmart and dollar store mirror picture frames!
step 1: i started by gathering my materials. 28 photo frames from the dollar store and one large mirror from walmart.
Next, I seperated 8 of the mirrors from the frame.
I then positioned the other 20 frames on my large mirror. 2 at the top and botttom and 8 on both sides. And I used e6000 to adhere the mirrored frames to the large mirrror.
finally I added the mirrors that i took off the frame in the first step to add a geometric pattern. The short mirror to connect the frames and the long mirror over each frame. And that’s it! Now I have my own designer mirror for way less than the huge price tag! Let me know what you think!

    How did you hang it?

  • Suze Suze on Jul 25, 2022

the dollar store mirror you show has a mitre joint, the small pieces you've used are rectangular - did you trim them or did you use something different?

  • Patricia Jaeger Patricia Jaeger on Jul 26, 2022

I have the same question as Suze. The dollar store frames you showed in the list of supplies needed had mitered corners but the pieces you used in the actual craft did not. Did you use different frames for the final project?

Wow! I really want to try this. Have to collect the things to make it.

You may already know but you can order the larger quantities needed to make things such as this mirror from the DT website. Otherwise trying to find 28 of the same frames could turn into quite a lengthy scavenger hunt! I am waaayyyy too impatient to slowly collect them until I have enough. I'm one of those crafters that when I see something I like, I want to make it right NOW!
