Come check out these reversible accent pillow projects featuring our Tamara Trellis Paint-A-Pillow.
We'd like to introduce Paula, a modern day Martha Stewart and the blogger behind Virginia Sweet Pea. Paula was looking to freshen her home with some new accent pillows. She browsed the large collection of pillow patterns and carefully chose an intricate Moroccan pattern, the Tamara Trellis. Then she selected white pillow covers, several Jacquard fabric paints, and tassels to complete her project.
Paula used a stencil brush to paint the pattern. She was careful to not overload the brush with too much paint because this would have caused the paint to bleed under the stencil.
She decided to paint the same pattern on both sides of the pillows but in different colors. For the first side she chose to paint it neutral gray, yellow ochre and turquoise. On the opposite side she painted turquoise, gray, and maroon.
After both sides of her pillows were stenciled, Paula was ready to add tassels. She said, "Tassels are an inexpensive add-on to the kit and I think are a fun addition to the pillows."
Once the pillows were painted and embellished with tassels, Paula placed them on her neutral couch for a nice pop of color.
Here is the other side.
