When I visit my favorite thrift shop, I always start at the back of the shop. I know, some of the items are dusty with just the right amount of rust, but I don't always see pretty, I see potential. That was the case with this little gem.
After giving it a once-over with a soft cloth. I prepared it for painting.
I chose a high-gloss white paint because I wanted it to be highly useful as a fruit basket, toilet paper holder, or display for seasonal items. Kinda cute, eh?
I chose a nice red Gingham ribbon and wove it throughout the basket.
I wanted to get a from the holiday theme, so I tied cute white hand-towels with the gingham ribbon.
Now, for the piece de resistance. A lovely little basket that is not only lovely, but useful as well. I have a friend who just moved into her new apartment and I think that she will enjoy this little bundle of love. Peace be unto you.
