All Season and Christmas Photo Display

Are you in need of a cute way to display your photos or cards?
I have the perfect project for you and I designed this so both sides can be used. This Photo Display can be used all year but...BONUS you can flip it over and it is personalized just for Christmas. Projects like these are great because it saves time, money and space.
These are how my cuts started.

After putting all the pieces together this is what you will have. One side...

and the other side.

Next I applied wood filler to fill in the nail holes, and stained both sides. I started out with a dark brown stain then I applied a second coat of a gray stain.

One one side I applied a thin coat of white chalk paint.

To give it a more weathered look I sanded the paint down to allow the wood grain to show through.

Next I painted my stencils and then lightly sanded them on one side.

Then I repeated the process for the other side.

Finally I wrapped jute in a criss cross pattern and added small wood clothespins.

I placed mine by our fire place. If you want to hang it I suggest attaching two eye hooks to the top and a hanging it with some wire.
