This tired bamboo magazine rack was given a fresh update using spray paint. Classic glossy black seemed appropriate for the makeover don't you agree?

Here it is all boring and blah. Step one scrub well and let dry.

Originally my plan was to do it in white and distress back to show some bamboo wood so I shook up my can of linen white chalk spray paint and got spraying.

It seems the bamboo had other ideas as it began to bleed thru all over. To stop this Zinsser Bull's Eye shellac was sprayed all over to seal it.

And the plan switched to a solid glossy black. Seeing there was a nice day out I took it outside to spray many thin layers of spray paint over ALL sides. Start with it upside down to get all the under areas then flip on sides once dry and continue to spray.

The magazine rack now has a new modern yet classic update. It can be sued for many things other then magazines like towels in a bathroom.

HERE are other magazine racks I have updated in other colors.

But is will look perfect in any room especially any living room as every room should have something black to anchor the room they say :)
